Minutes of Monthly Meeting

Danville Planning Commission

10th December 2009
 

Attendees:      Jeff Frampton, Alison Meaders, Jim Ashley, Nancy Lewis

 Start:              Meeting opened at 7:07 pm

New Business:           

 Congratulations on passing our new bylaws (voted in by Selectboard) – new versions are in town hall and with DRB.  Jim to look for Sally’s Caledonia Record article to add to file,  Alison to get map bill from NVDA (both needed for project closure).

Planning with Smart Growth Vermont for this year’s municipal planning grant (MPG) work:

-          Discussed integration of matrix of options into Town Plan Rewrite (due end of 2010 – Derek and Mike working on)

-          Discussion of other (non-MPG) projects:  West & North Danville village zoning, sign & fence ordinances

-          Plan to create a “Friends of the Planning Commission” to help with short term (through end of 2010) work

-          Would like materials / possible survey for Town Meeting, to gather public input on our 2010 work

-          Aiming for January open, advertised public meeting on a Saturday morning, with visuals of options for input on prioritizing next focus.  Noelle to facilitate & present, Jim to look at cost of all-resident mailing of flyer to invite all.  Alison to set a planning conference call with Noelle McKay, Nancy Lewis & Jeff for next week.  Alison to also clarify maps needed from NVDA for presentation

Planning Commission will meet with the Selectboard early next year to go over our planned activities and to get Selectboard concurrence on what will be required to get the various projects approved.

We will all attend January 20 Conservation Commission meeting at 6:30 – Vermont Fish & Wildlife Biologist presenting zoning & planning tools to protect and enhance wildlife habitat.  Selectboard invited also.  In lieu of monthly Planning Commission meeting.

Jeff to draft a sidewalk letter for Planning Commission review – proposal to town for Hill Street sidewalk additions.
