Danville Planning Commission

Attendees:      Jeff Frampton, Derek Fenby, Nancy Lewis, Kim Prior, Mike Boudreau

 Start:              Meeting opened at 7:13 pm

 New Business:

We expect to receive our draft of downtown zoning regulations from Smart Growth before the March Planning Commission meeting (March 26).

Reviewed EPA’s request for applications for Smart Growth assistance:  Jeff will speak with Smart Growth Vermont to see if they can identify any areas of our current and future grant where this technical assistance would be of help

Brainstormed potential ideas for $2,000 grant for healthy town activities – to continue next meeting.  Ideas include:

 -          Stair to school (to facilitate students walking)

-          Crosswalk markers

-          Trail marking in the Town Forest(s)

-          Designate path & signage for rails to trails

-          Kiosk in Town Forest with recreational maps

-          Kiosk at Marty’s

-          Expanding & supporting the skating rink at the Hill Street Park

-          Danville ‘placemat’

-          Geocaching

Geocaching received the most discussion time.  Mike Boudreau will send us an internet link for members to familiarize themselves with geocaching.

 Investigating next steps for executing our 2009-2010 planning grant.
