Selectboard Minutes

                Special May 12, 2010 Meeting

Chair Michael K Walsh called the special meeting to order at 4:00 pm. Selectboard present were, Michael K Walsh, Steven Larrabee, and Douglas Pastula. Also present were Merton Leonard and Kevin Gadapee, and contractors Dennis Laferriere and J P Sicard.

This Special Meeting of the Selectboard was called to act on the bids received for the removal of the bridge structure of Town Bridge #7 in North Danville. It was noted that the meeting was dually warned according to state statutes.

Merton had collected five bids from local contractors. The request for bids was published in the local paper for 3 days, as well as being mailed to the bidders on last years Harvey's Hollow bridge. Bids were received from: Laferriere Construction of Danville for $78,682; Blow and Cote Inc of Morrisville for $38,975; J P Sicard of Barton for $27,045; Mathews Construction of Waterford for $26,850; and Austin Construction of Concord for $19,800.

After a short discussion, Steven Larrabee moved to award the contract to Austin Construction for $19,800, subject to verification of their schedule. Douglas Pastula seconded the motion which was approved.

 Merton asked for clarification of the Library's status in using the town hall and of someone requesting to hold a semi private party at the Town Hall. The general consensus was they should both be charged the resident rental rate.

             The Board voted to adjourn at 4:30, with no other action taken.
